Why David Keyte makes time for East Bend
David’s East Bend episode is rooted in an activity he knows firsthand. He connects his first Bend visit with riding, then explores Big Sky Bike Park, Pine Nursery and a food-truck stop as parts of a local outing.
“Mountain biking is what drew me to Bend in 2013 on my first visit for a mountain biking trip.”
That personal connection explains the mix of recreation and places to unwind in this guide. Choose a ride or park visit that suits your group, and check current trail conditions and access rather than treating an older episode as an all-season guarantee.

East Bend offers several places to build a day around biking, park paths and a meal. Start with the Bend Relo video above, then use current park and business information to plan your own visit. Choose activities that fit your group and the conditions on the day.
Ride at Big Sky Bike Park
Big Sky Bike Park includes a pump track, learning area, skills course, trials area and singletrack trails. Bend Park and Recreation District says it opens from dawn to dusk as weather and trail conditions allow. Check the posted rules and closures, inspect the features and choose terrain suited to your skills.
Dry-looking pavement does not establish that nearby dirt trails are ready to ride. The district asks riders to stay off muddy dirt trails and obey closures. Plan another activity when conditions do not support riding.
Choose your activity at Pine Nursery
Pine Nursery Park has paths, sports facilities, pickleball courts and an off-leash dog area. Check the district’s current park information and pickleball guidance for access and organized use. An existing court does not guarantee an open court or a scheduled game when you arrive.
If you bring a dog, use designated areas and follow posted leash rules. A bike outing and a dog outing may require different stops and a different plan for your group.
Check the current food-truck lineup
On Tap provides a food-truck and taproom stop. Check its current trucks, menus, hours and events before choosing it for your meal. Businesses and offerings can change after a video is filmed.
Use the visit to explore a home search
If these activities are part of the routine you want, test their routes from the actual homes you are considering. East Bend covers different locations and housing options. Compare current properties on their own merits rather than relying on a fixed area-wide price range.
